What we do at PhysioPro

  • We treat injuries and other conditions that may cause pain, stiffness, tightness or weakness.
  • When we treat you, we may use one or more treatment techniques. We’ve described these so that you have a better understanding of how we work to relieve your pain, increase your strength and flexibility, and improve your posture.
  • We give you information on whatever is wrong and exercises and tips to help you get back to your best as quickly as possible. This ‘home work’ is not difficult but needs to be done regularly to aid your recovery and/or correct your body’s alignment.
  • If necessary we liaise with others who may be able to assist you in your recovery such as your doctor, specialists, or your coach or gym instructor.

Treatment techniques may include:

Manipulation and mobilisation. These two hands-on treatment techniques are often used to loosen stiff joints and to alleviate pain.

Acupuncture. PhysioPro can provide acupuncture to help reduce pain and muscle tension. It involves using fine needles placed in strategic locations around your body.

Post-surgery rehabilitation. We work closely with your surgeon to establish a safe and appropriate exercise regime to get you better. As our clinic has a gym, we can make use of some excellent rehabilitation equipment to strengthen your body.

Muscle balance assessment. Think of this as a Warrant of Fitness for your body. It is a series of tests aimed to detect imbalances in your muscle strength or flexibility to help prevent future injuries. Once these faults are discovered you’ll be given a treatment plan including a home exercise programme.

Assessment and correction of posture. Poor posture is a common cause of pain in the body. We’re not always aware we’re standing, sitting or moving in a way that stresses our body. We don’t always know how to correct poor posture, or how much damage it can do over time if left untreated. At PhysioPro we thoroughly assess your posture and show you still photos and video footage to explain to you what’s happening. We then give you exercises to correct your posture.

Workplace assessment and advice. We are seeing more people all the time with workplace injuries caused by poor posture, poor work stations and poor work habits. We can assess your work environment and give you solutions to prevent injury or to help relieve current symptoms.

Massage. Massage has been used for thousands of years to reduce pain, tension and swelling. We’ve been trained to find the cause of your pain and to use massage to release the tight muscle or swollen area that may be causing your problem.
